Im gonna go with the NY Rangers ....I was gonna say LA Kings but I felt I should be different in my pick =)

i'd like to know who honestly picked LA at the beginning of (and/or at any point during the regular season)last year. lol.

so with the arbitrary nature of our picks at this time in mind, and despite their lack of lidstrom, i'm placing all bets on the detroit red wings. simply because, as a leafs fan surrounded by wing nuts.. i imagine, were such fantastical beings as hockey gods to exist, they'd also kind of have to be massive jerks...

in keeping with this thought: jonas 'the monster' gustavsson will definitely play an instrumental role in said championship victory run.

p.s. i'd be quite happy with either card :] or even just an NHL season. make that happen, dangle!

The 2013 Stanley Cup will be won by the St. Louis Blues. A division winner that will only be better this year with help of their elite prospects (Tarasenko, Schwartz). The NY Rangers will be the Eastern Conference champ.

I think Minnesota will have strong year. them, or Pittsburgh. but yeah, just to be special, I pick Minnesota. PS. I prefer the Phaneuf-card, very classy

I'm not sure if we were suppose to place what card we want, but I'm fine with either one. I was one of the first 20 posters listed as "Zach Kearns". I decided I'd sign up immediately following the post, lol!

I think a more offensively minded Washington could be dangerous, especially as no-one really expects much from them as in previous years.

I'm thinking the Rangers from the east for sure. Lundqvist is always going to give them a chance. Plus, they have Nash now, so all they really need are more competent 5/6 dmen.

LA from the west. but only if Quick doesn't have any lingering issues from the surgery.

Ok so this may be far fetched but I think that the Hurricanes have a good chance of winning it all. They have a really good first line and a solid second line.They got Semin who is a good addittion and the Staal's will have great chemistry with Skinner. I think the key to a great playoff team is a star goalie and a third line that can score and with ALL STAR Jiri Tlusty I think the third line can score. Also the 4th line has role players like my man Timmy Brent. They have a good combonation of young puck moving defensemen like Justin Faulk and veteran presence of Tim Gleason. I know I wrote a lot... I just want this Dion Phaneuf card haha.

In my NHL 13 ive already won with the Leafs.. thats all that really counts. But in the real world if Crosby is healthy i think the Pens will/could/if? Win the cup. F you Lockout!

I think Rangers with a first line of Gaborik richards nash is pretty insane. Always have had stellar "d' and star goalie Henrik Lundqvist and a tough group(even without prust) all the pieces are there.

Picking a team to win the cup at the beginning of the season is always a toss up seeing as the Kings and Devils were probably in no ones top 3 to make the finals. I'd have to say between the Pens and Hawks, if both teams can stay healthy and sort out goaltending issues (Fleury's playoff was abysmal) I see them as having a legitimate chance at the finals. But a Leafs playoff team would trump any surprises for this season... actually, hockey in general would be quite the surprise this year in that sense. Dion Phaneuf please!
