Yesterday was supposed to be the Leafs' preseason game in London, Ontario taking on the Philadelphia Flyers. Alas, there is a lockout...

Junior hockey isn't locked out, though. For today's hockey card giveaways, let's take a stroll down junior hockey memory lane.

My favourite memory would have to be in Guelph when it was Kitchener and Guelph playing and this was right after Steve Downie was traded to the Rangers, they were losing and off the face-off Downie lost it jumping the guelph guy and throwing stuff on the ice after, he ended up getting 10 games for that

1960 Exhibition game, Brockville Junior Canadians (Bobby Rousseau, Keth Macreary, Jacques Laperierre, Harold White, Gilles Francoueur, etc) are playing th Toronto Marloboros. Marlies big bad guy, Roger Cote picks up Macreary carries him across the ice and dumps him in the penalty box! definitely worth a card!

My favorite Junior Hockey moment is going to the the last Lowell Devils (AHL) game. The moved to albany after that season. The great thing about that game if the Devils score 3 or more goals, all the fan got a free slice of pizza. I dont remember if they ever did because there were so many more promotions around the arena it was hard to keep track of if you won something. After the game you could see everyone walking out with a picture, foam fingers, sticks, pucks, or something they won that night. I wish I got a slice....

My favourite junior moment was Tyler Carroll of the Guelph Storm killing a 5-on-3 against the Kitchener Rangers on Friday, December 19/10. He blocked 3 shots off both ankles to kill the penalty.

my favourite jr hockey moment is more of a conglomerate of many. growing up i spent a lot (A LOT)of time around my hometown jr D (now a jr c)hockey team. my older brother played for the team, my dad managed & did the announcing and my mom was on the executive as secretary (my parents continued on their roles long after my bro's tenure w/ the team).

games, practices, fundraisers, travelling on the bus with the team, community events, end of the year banquets ..my pop thinking it particularly hilarious [along w/ the other bajillion people in attendance] to mention my pre-teen crush on one particular player whilst introducing each member of the team at one of said banquets..

and though i had my own hockey teams and various other interests, it's still pretty amazing to look back now and realise just how much jr hockey (even if it was jr D hockey) coloured my entire childhood with some of my very fondest memories.

07' memorial cup in Vancouver. Med hat vs Vancouver. This moment is sometimes refered to as "the MVP shift" where milan Lucic runs over two med hat players, the drops the mits in his very first shift of the game. I had never seen a crowd go more crazy then at that moment. It fired up the crowd, and the team, and this shift played a huge part in Lucic winning MVP of the mem cup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5OJ1O25r_8

My favorite junior hockey moment is a tie. #1 was being in the John Labatt Centre when the Knights won game 5 of the OHL Championships last year. That is the LOUDEST i have ever heard a group of people. When Scott Harrington cleared the puck and Houser threw up his hands i thought the place was coming DOWN! #2 was a couple weeks later in Shawinnegan when myself and my cousin were standing outside the ticket office in our knights jerseys having just been told we didn't have tickets to the SHA vs. LDN round robin game and Shawinnegan season ticket holder came up and gave us, for free, two tickets. Junior hockey fans are the BEST fans in the world. The Knights got shelled but we had a great time.

my favorite junior hockey memory is an FHL one. This is only the third FHL season this year, and for the first two years there was a team here in Brooklyn (why they moved, i'll never know) but I went to their only home playoff game last year (it was a best of three series) and it was one of the best games I had ever been too. I was surrounded by people who were all fans of different NHL teams, but we all got together for Brooklyn, we were all loud and excited. Even though they lost in OT, I had so much fun.

My favorite moment has gotta be the 2010 world juniors game between usa and canada. It was hands down one of the best games i have ever seen. IN the 1s period even 2 2 and in 2nd period 1 1 and 3rd period 2 2. Just awesome back and forth play constantly just answering each other. and finally with a handful of minutes gone by in ot usa d man John Carlson rips one in for the crazy win in OT. And john carlson has had a great career since going on his 4th year with the caps.

My favourite memory was memory was a couple years ago at a Mississauga St. Michael's Game when they were hosting the Niagra Ice Dogs. There were tonnes of Ice Dogs fans at the game since they used to play in the Hershey centre. Anyways, Majors won the game 10-1 and it was the first blow-out hockey score game which I attended. Also had awesome seats right behind the goal.

This Russian kid Kitsyn who's an LA prospect was awesome to watch. Also it was hilarious to see the Ice Dogs team, it basically looked like Dougie Hamilton + 5 scrub dmen. Anyways, Majors were a good team to watch that year though they came up short in the OHL final and the Mem Cup final.

Btw if you're covering the Steelheads then can you ask around to see if the team has any plans for getting a set of team issued hockey cards at their fan shop?

I have to go with Eberle in the 2010 World Juniors, when he scored that 5-5 tying goal against the US. The guy is just amazing in general, but especially when he plays for Canada. He just makes things happen out there.

Taking the weird/offbeat route, my favourite junior hockey memory came at the CHL top prospects game two years ago (tickets courtesy of Monika). The best thing I took away from the event was Nuge nearly dropping the trophy he was awarded post-game.

Nice hands there, kid.

Gotta be when I played in the timbits game with the Mississauga Icedogs (yes the MISSISSAUGA Ice dogs) and i remember it was Don Cherry's dog Blue who was the mascott and he set me up on a beautiful breakaway pass in which i tripped on the blue line and the other team took the puck. Those were the days.

My favourite junior hockey moment was my first OHL game. I saw the local Oshawa Generals play. I was pretty young so I don't remember much. I do remember the crowd was pretty excited, the game featured a fight, and the Generals won in overtime.

It was my first hockey game I went to and before I was the loyal fan I am today.

It was an OHL game I believe it was 2007. Oshawa Generals vs Owen Sound Attack at GM Centre (my first and only OHL game I've attended) The Attack jump out to a 5-0 lead until...John Tavares puts the team on his back and scored 2 as well as adding a few assists in an 8-5 Generals victory.

My favourite would have to be a Oshawa game vs Erie in 08, when Oshawa was destroying them like 5-0 in the 2nd so they pulled their goalie (can't remember who it was) but the backup was even worse and let in like 3 goals on 5 shots, so the first goalie was put back in. At this point the fans started chant the name of the goalie non-stop for the last 15 minutes of the game. Historical. My boy Johnny Tavares was hot that night, think he had 4 and something like 6 points. (@Goonersaurus_)

My favourite junior hockey memory came on New Year's Eve, 2009. My father and I were given tickets to see the epic clash between Team Canada and Team USA at Scotiabank Place! Needless to say, we were both very excited. On top of that, I was only 13 at the time and had never experienced international competition live. We arrived at the arena and began looking for our seats when we discovered that the two tickets we were given were for the Smirnoff 'Coolest Seats in the House'. Instead of the usual hardened plastic, we got to watch the game in leather recliners, with the luxury of a private television and plenty of leg room. The game went on to be one of the greatest games ever played. Team USA jumoed out ot an early 3-0 lead, but Canada fought back and eventually won 7-4. John Tavares had the hat trick, and my father and I got to see every single goal live. It was fantastic. The atmosphere was undescribable, and was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. I went home smiling. I don't think I stopped smiling until the next week.

My favorite junior hockey moment was first discovering junior hockey at a very young age. Of course it was easy to hear about the NHL and all the professional teams, but you could imagine my confusion when a player on my team got sent to the "minors" which I thought was just a really fancy way of saying they fired him and sent him to work at a grocery store until he proved he could play hockey again.

Why it was specifically a grocery store, I'll never know.

Living in the Windsor area, I saw my fair share of Spitfire games from when they were the best Canadian junior hockey team two years running. By far the greatest memory I had wasn't the two Memorial Cup wins, but their comeback win against the Kitchener Rangers in the 2010 OHL Western Conference final after falling down three games to zero.

My favorite junior moment was when I was at a Pats game against the Tigers and they were doing the 3 stars. Etem was one of the stars. When he came out he had his hand at his ear like saying I can't hear you. So someone threw a snowcone at him. Then he wiped it off of the Tigers logo like the team was all that!

My favourite OHL memory goes back to the last game Mississauga played as the St Mike Majors. Not so much for the result (they lost) but for the intensity, excitement and drama of a Game 6 playoff game. All the scoring was done in the 2nd period with the teams sharing 4 goals including a SH and PP effort in two minute bursts. My abiding memory was the exceptional level of goaltending on both teams as they combined for 82 saves. Even the OT winner by Barrie was controversial, leading to a game misconduct for Majors goalie Maxwell!

I, erm, just one? I refuse.

One of them was when I was just a young whippersnapper, at St. Mike's on Bathurst and St. Clair. The Majors were down two with under a minute to go against the Battalion. In a flurry of amazement they were able to score two goals, the second sending me into a haze of euphoria and awesomeness. Unfortunately that happiness was drowned out when the Battalion scored in OT with 0.4 seconds to go. So, yeah that was pretty memorable.

Another came the same series, Windsor-Barrie. I was working in the Rogers truck for games 1 and 2 (wish there was more). It was very cool being able to be in attendance for an OHL final, just too bad the Colts couldn't have done a little better.

Gotta go with John Carlson's golden goal for Team USA in WJC in 2010. I wanted to jump off a cliff after Team Canada pulled an Eberle. After watching Canada win 5 golds in a row, it was sweet seeing Team USA come out on top. I will never forget that moment!

My memory of a CHL game is the one and only i have been too as im from England its pretty hard to get to games. Back in 2001 my future wife and i spent a week on holiday in Toronto. We went and saw a St Mikes v Brampton game in which Darryl Bootland scored a game winner in the last 30 secs of the game having trailed for most of the game.
