After a tough opening game loss to Cat Silverman and the Americans, Canada bounced back yesterday with an emphatic 6-1 win. Today, the team takes on an 0-2 Swiss team in what shouldn't be a hard game, but this team's been far from able to be complacent and should look to dominate over the course of 60 minutes.

Martin Marincin has never been described as a standout offensive dynamo — this much is clear.
This season, through 22 games, he's been held off the scoresheet every single time, registering 0 goals and 0 assists. The Leafs aren't exactly swimming in offensive talent, and Marincin put up just 11 points in 85 games over two years as an Edmonton Oiler, but 0 points for any player over 22 games is quite low. Marincin's one of just three players in the league this year to have at least 20 games with a goose egg in the point column.
And yet, somehow, he's been among the Leafs' best defensive players, and arguably one of the top defensive players in the league. He's doing things virtually no one else is doing. No, seriously. At just $700,000 on a one-year deal, Martin Marincin is an absolute statistical anomaly right now.
Let's dive a little deeper to understand Marincin's game, even if it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

You weren't really worried, but it looked a little scary briefly. Despite Canada being all over Denmark in the first period, they fell behind 1-0 12:49 into the first period.
Anthony Beauvillier tied things up just 63 seconds later, and the teams headed into the first intermission tied at one.
Four second period goals however would prove the difference as Canada went up 5-1, finishing the game off with a score of 6-1.

Canada heads into today's matchup with Denmark in an unusual spot- winless after one game. it's obviously not the end of the world, but the message is definitely clear- don't blow this one.
Denmark, meanwhile, comes in 1-0, hot off a 2-1 win over Switzerland. Nothing super impressive, but it's worth noting Switzerland put up three goals on Sweden and just a lone marker to the Danes.
Canada beat Denmark 8-0 in last year's tournament.
