Ahead of this afternoon's draft, we've been looking at some of the players that may be possible first round draft targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Not one of them a goaltender.
There's several good reasons for this. Most significantly, there's only a goaltender or two expected to go in the first round. Then there's the fact that during Dave Morrison's tenure as top scout, the Leafs have drafted only three goaltenders in seven drafts.
Still, who's to say a goalie isn't 21st on the Leafs' draft rankings? Or 10th? Or 1st? (I mean really, would you put something that silly past them?)

On Tuesday, we took a look at Dave Morrison's draft record in hopes of finding some pattern that might help us identify some potential draft targets in this coming Sunday's NHL Entry Draft. While we were able to see the Leafs favour North American players, little else could be pulled from the numbers.
Morrison has selected three forwards and three defencemen with six first round picks in the past seven drafts. Goalies have been snubbed, which many would argue is a good thing. In fact, Morrison has only drafted three goaltenders in the past seven years, with the highest drafted being a 4th rounder (James Reimer, 2006).
Today, we'll take a look at the forwards who the Leafs might find attractive at 21st overall...

With the 2013 NHL Entry Draft less than a week away, we're going to take a few minutes to profile not one of the draft eligible players, but the man who's running the show for the Leafs - Dave Morrison.
An old hand from the John Ferguson Jr. era, Morrison was promoted to Director of Amateur Scouting in 2006.
In 2013, it's fair to say that Morrison's first few shots at the draft were successful, despite lacking a number of early round picks. How successful? Read on...

Hey guys, Cam has asked me to do the post-game tonight. And seeing as it’s well past midnight and I’ve just gotten back from Steve Dangle’s engagement party (congratulations Steve!), this is going to have to be short and sweet. If you're unhappy with the following recap, blame me, then blame Cam for trusting me with this in the first place.
If you were hoping for a wide open, free-wheeling, shot-happy game, boy this must have been hell for you. Still, the Leafs managed to bank a couple points in a 2-1 win over the Devils despite being largely outplayed.
Some thoughts on the game…
