Toninato, Cameranesi take down No. 1 Minnesota
In case you were unaware, The University of Minnesota System has two NCAA Division 1 hockey programs.
The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, who play for the school's flagship campus in Minneapolis and St. Paul, are a very good hockey team. In fact, they were the top-ranked team in all of the NCAA heading into this weekend's home-and-home with their cross-campus rivals, the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. You've probably guessed that the Bulldogs represent the University of Minnesota-Duluth campus, and you probably already know that Leafs prospects Dominic Toninato and Tony Cameranesi play for UMD.

Not to be super lame, but it was hardly a Hall of Fame effort from the Leafs tonight. Despite only losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 2-1, it wasn't all that close of a game until the dying minutes. After thoroughly dominating the Bruins on Wednesday, the Leafs forgot whatever made them great.

As you're probably aware, tonight's contest is a make-up for the Wednesday, October 22nd game that was postponed due to the shootings at the Canadian National War Memorial and Parliament Hill.
It'll be an odd situation, in that both teams will be on the latter half of a back-to-back. Last night, the Leafs beat the Rangers by a score of 5-4, while the Senators were downed by the Jets, 2-1 in shootout. The only players on the ice who won't be gassed will likely be the goaltenders.

With news that advertising and sponsorship logos may be making their way to NHL jerseys, we asked our team of writers to create some mock-ups of new Leafs jerseys. Please note that all of these mock ups are very well thought out and are highly likely to become reality.

Those [lovely people] at TSN threw up a video today called "Maple Leafs creating a distraction in net", and it's, uh, something. Careful not to call the Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer platoon a 'goaltending controversy', the video certainly hinted that things could maybe, potentially, perhaps boil over.
Let's overreact, shall we?
