James Reimer has finally been cast off to a far away land, also known as the bench! The Leafs' prayers have been answered! The season has been saved!  After all, the team plays better when he's on the ice!

Somebody get me an eighteen wheeler. The final score was 5-3 St. Louis, and it's a miracle that it was that close.

Marlies School Amerks In Front Of Screaming Children

I hate waking up early. You see, I live on the internet in the year 2014, which means live hockey is a thing that is being discussed until at least 1AM. I'm brainstorming ideas, I'm trying to break my high score in Flappy Bird... I do a little bit of a lot, get very distracted, and getting to bed at 3AM is a job well done. So when the Marlies decide to play a game early enough to serve breakfast in the media room... it's a long day. Red Bull is consumed.  I can only imagine how it must be for the players.

With that said, it didn't look like the early morning threw them off much. Toronto and Rochester combined for 90 shots, and the Marlies won 2-1 in front of about 8000 school children.

Dry March and SV% Expectations

Goaltenders, by nature, are easy targets. They're the last ones to make a mistake before the puck goes in, and when they're doing their job at their absolute best, the results are boring and forgettable until you look at the scoresheet at the final buzzer.

I'm going to keep this short, but sweet. Nobody is going to deny that James Reimer is struggling a bit. His numbers since the Los Angeles game look like his post-concussion numbers in 2011/12, and he's let in a couple of weak goals over the past few days. But to act like the's the only fault, the reason the Leafs are losing. Is close minded. Quite simply; the Leafs are under performing so badly, that they'd need hall of fame quality goaltending to weather this tide.

Leafs Postgame: Sold Our Goals To The Devil

I'm not even worried about this game. It was a bad game. There were some really questionable goals. The Leafs have lost five straight. If a couple of teams that have games in hand win a single one of them, they're out of a playoff spot. David Clarkson has two points in his past 24 games, and James Reimer's stock is crashing faster than Enron's.

But please, just let Phil Kessel be okay. That's all I ask. That was a rough helmet hit to the head, and while he came back on seconds after the ref held him back (of course he did, it's the Leafs), he didn't seem in great shape after impact. That play would be an awful way to finally miss a game with the team, having played in 362 straight since his debut. Let's talk about the game, though.

Marlies Win 3-2 Over Abbotsford

After a disappointing 5-1 loss against the Milwaukee Admirals yesterday afternoon, the Toronto Marlies had to come into today with clear minds and an eagerness to rebound from their prior mistakes. Their opponents today were the Abbotsford Heat, hot off the heels of a 5-1 game themselves, in their case a win against Hamilton. Would it be the home team's wakeup call or the visitor's momentum that ruled the day? Somehow, it was both. The Marlies stormed out to start, the Heat took over for most of the game, and a major penalty gave Toronto the last push they needed to pull out a 3-2 win.
