LGD: A New Challenge vs A Familiar Foe

Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs forced their way into the third seed in the Atlantic Division. Technically speaking, a tie for second. That's about where I saw the Leafs being at the start of the season, so having it come to fruition is definitely nice, but hey, overachieving would be great too. If they really want to go for this, and take a serious run at the Atlantic Division, tonight's game is key.

It was only a matter of time before the climb made its way all the way back up, and today, it did. The Toronto Maple Leafs, after a mind-boggling 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils, have sneaked themselves into the third seed in the Atlantic Division.

LGD: Dealing with the Devils (again)

The last time the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New Jersey Devils faced off, the red and black did the blue and white a solid favour and let Auston Matthews tear down his scoring wall. That was just about the only positive in the game, as the Leafs saw their 3-0 lead evaporate and turn into a shootout loss.

Tonight, they'll be looking for the full two points as they aim to jump into a playoff spot.

While the Toronto Marlies have struggled a bit of late, a few of their top young forwards have broken through the team slump to have massive personal seasons to date. Wingers Kasperi Kapanen and Brendan Leipsic have been rewarded for their efforts as such, joining the North Division All-Stars for the 2017 All-Star Classic.

Welp, this is it. Rebounding quite nicely off of a disappointing 2016 tournament, and doing well to pull themselves out of a tough spot against the Swedes last night, the Canadians will take on the United States of America in an epic grudge match at the Bell Centre, to decide the Gold Medal Winner at the 2017 World Juniors. Here's what's going down tonight.
