McKenzie: Babcock Sweepstakes a Three Team Race Between Toronto, Buffalo, and Detroit

In his Friday radio spot on TSN 1260 in Edmonton, Bob McKenzie dropped some of his knowledge on the Babcock situation. Apparently there hasn't been too much interest in speaking to Babcock, and the only teams that have expressed interest are the Sabres and the Maple Leafs. 

"Funny thing has happened here. The Mike Babcock frenzy has been limited to the Sabres and The Maple Leafs. For the time being those are the only teams that approached the Red Wings. Things could change in a minute, and Philadelphia could ask for permission to speak as well."

It looks like the Leafs will again go to their connection with the London Knights to make another addition to their management team. The team needs to start hiring to replace the staff they cleared out last month, and they already have one name in mind: Lindsay Hofford.

Toronto is a team that is starved for high end high skill prospects, and the idea of grabbing an elite talent after suffering through a horrible season offers some consolation. On Instagram and elsehwere #TBT (or Throwback Thursday for the uninformed) is a day where users post pictures of themselves from days past, though it seems these days "throwback" can often mean a time period of less than a month. 

On TLN, the new feature of #TBT will showcase a look at highlights (and ocassionally lowlights) of the Leafs' history. For starters, we're going to take a look at the 2002 second-round Battle of Ontario playoff matchup against the Ottawa Senators.
