TLN Top Twenty Prospects: No. 17 - Tony Cameranesi

Name: Tony Cameranesi
Position: Center
Hometown: Maple Grove, Minnesota
Size: 5'10", 180lb
2013 Team: University of Minnesota-Duluth (WCHA)
Acquired: Draft - 5th round, 2011

Plain and simple, I don't think Tony Cameranesi has gotten the attention he deserves. As a 5th round pick from two years ago, it's understandable that the Minnesota high school product took a backseat to more high profile prospects in the Leafs system. Still, Cameranesi followed up a strong rookie season with Waterloo of the USHL with an equally, if not stronger rookie season with Minnesota-Duluth in the NCAA.

The above is a screenshot of the Google News headlines if you type in "maple leafs premium pricing", as it appears to be a story that has consumed much of the mainstream Barilkosphere today (the Bozakosphere?) because it's impossibly easy to sell a story by convincing the public that a large, evil corporation like MLSE is gouging consumers.

Name: Connor Brown
Position: Right Wing
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
Size: 5'11", 170lb
2013 Team: Erie Otters (OHL)
Acquired: Draft - 6th round, 2012
At number eighteen on our list we have the Leafs’ 2012 sixth round pick, and Erie Otters’ winger, Connor Brown. As has been pointed out in the past, the Leafs are not only deep at wing on the current roster, but throughout their prospect pool as well. Brown is coming off his second OHL season, where he led the Otters in scoring with 28 goals and 41 assists in 63 games.
