The Log Off Podcast: “It was like an oasis in a sea of terrible last year”

There’s a first for everything, and that sentiment rings truer today than ever before after an analytically-inclined podcast spent a strong 10-15 minutes praising a series of moves the Toronto Maple Leafs made recently.

This week’s show included that, some Hot PK Subban Takes™, and an extensive look at how this offseason has affected the Eastern Conference landscape.

Thanks for listening!

Stopped listening when you said Holland and Santorelli were both better than
    Bozak.

Saying things like that are why people think the analytics crowd is a bunch of idiots who generate every opinion they have off Corsi because they can’t understand real hockey.

My opinion for the rankings for Eastern conference –

    Atlantic Division:

    1)TAMPA BAY
    2)DETROIT
    3)BOSTON
    4)TORONTO
    5)MONTRÉAL
    6)FLORIDA
    7)OTTAWA
    8)BUFFALO

    METROPOLITAN Division:

    1)PITTSBURGH
    2)COLUMBUS
    3)NY ISLANDERS
    4)NEW JERSEY
    5)NY RANGERS
    6)PHILADELPHIA
    7)WASHINGTON
    8)CAROLINA

Haha, you’re predicting that the Rangers, conference champions, don’t even make the playoffs? And you think Tampa Bay and Detroit will lead the Atlantic Division? Keep in mind Detroit is not a young team. Sure they have Tatar and Nyquvist just to name two young guys but their more important players in Datsyuk and Zetterberg are getting very old and as was shown last season might have some injury trouble. I predict they make it but definitely not in second place in the division. My guess would be squeaking into 8th or MAYBE 7th for them. My prediction is:

      1)Boston
      2)Tampa
      3)Toronto
      4)Montreal
      5)Detroit
      6)Florida
      7)Ottawa
      8)Buffalo

1)Pittsburgh (even though they will certainly be eliminated come playoff time)
      2)New York Rangers
      3)Philadelphia
      4)Columbus
      5)NY Islanders
      6)New Jersey
      7)Washington
      8)Carolina
