“#Leafs projected to finish ~$12K under salary cap with current roster. No call-up room without LTIR. http://www.capgeek.com/

Quit worrying about the cap and making all these imaginary moves. It’s not needed.

They won’t finish with the current roster. Right now they have 15 forwards, 7 defense men and two goalies. That’s probably two extra forwards.

As soon as Komorov can play again, Trevor Smith ($550,000) goes down and is no longer on the roster. Carter Ashton ($850,500)also probably goes down after the suspension is over. Other teams might take a pass on him because of the lack of NHL goals and the suspension. He might not be claimed.

Next year, some quality prospects will have another year of experience, be more NHL ready and still be waiver exempt at very reasonable cost.

Leivo is the first in line at $792,500. Sam Carrick can be called up do nice spot duty on the 4th line at $631,667. Connor Brown ($686,667) has an amazing 18 points in 24 games as a rookie in the AHL.

Living in Seattle, please stop floating it as an idea for a town for the NHL. This is a massive front running sports town. There is no real Canuck fan base here.

Between the Everett and Seattle WHL teams, they barely draw 3,000 per game. This is a market that lost the Sonics and almost lost the Mariners. There’s so little corporate sponsorship and Seattle proper is not friendly to large business.

The lack of an arena is also a major issue. But hey, with how bad the support will be, we will make Florida look like a hockey hotbed…
