Timo Meier is one of the best pure scorers in this year’s draft and is a dynamic winger. He is among a fairly large group of draft eligibles this year who could be NHL ready. He could be one of the first 10 names called at the 2015 Entry Draft.
Just how high could Timo Meier be drafted? Offers a lot of skill/size. Some 6-12th pick team will get a steal. #NHLDraft #NHL #NJDevils

New list has Timo Meier ranked in the top 10 of the NHL draft. 5th highest in CHL. Anyone who has watched him won’t be surprised by this.

SCOUTING REPORTS
-
Curtis Joe, Elite Prospects: A physically dominant winger with the ability to play in a skill or
character role. In the offensive end, Meier is very aware and gets
himself into spaces where he can easily make seeing eye passes or snap
hard, accurate shots. Can impact the game in a number of different ways,
and is very consistent in his efforts. All-in-all, the kind of
versatile player that you can put on a skill line, and trust to create
dangerous chances, or on a shutdown line, and trust to help stop pucks
from going into your net. Source. -
Scouting Factory: “A winger with a great wrist and slapshot who loves to use it. His quick
release makes it hard for goaltenders to track the shot. Uses all of
his shot arsenal. Good first steps and speed but could be more agile.
Has a good offensive mind and is always looking to put himself in a good
shooting spot. Good play away from the puck in the offensive zone,
though not in his own zone. Tends to make blind passes and turns the
puck over too many times. Improved his physical play and is willing to
use his body but still needs to use his size better in corner battles
and while protecting the puck. Rather shoots than passes. Shows hockey
sense and is making himself always available for a pass. His point
production exploded this season and he elevated his game to a new level
but this should be enjoyed with caution as he is on the teams most
dominant offensive line together with 9th overall pick Nikolaj Ehlers.” Source -
Corey Pronman: Timo Meier looks very impressive. Big, strong forward, good skater, skilled with the puck. Great production in the Q this yr too.
I remember talking to scouts in November who tagged Meier as a
middle-round pick. By January they had changed their tune and said he
was clearly in their first round. He went on a torrid scoring streak
starting near the middle of the season and had a solid WJC for
Switzerland
NOTES
Meier has been heading in a good direction throughout the season and is now close to the top 10 in various rankings and mock drafts.
WHERE WILL HE GO?
Meier has been trending in a very good way all year and I have him (finally) inside the top 10 overall. There’s a range from about No. 8 to No. 14 where an NHL tea, should be able to get a quality defender (Zach Werenski, Oliver Kylington, Jeremy Roy) a quality center (Nick Merkley, Anthony Beauvillier, Travis Konecny, Jansen Harkins) but the only pure scoring winger in that range is Meier.
It only takes one, I suspect he’ll be off the board in the first 12.

Thrilled that the Oilers won he draft lottery.
For hat reason I would love to see the Oilers move up in the draft from #16. If they were able to generate a top7/8 pick, they could potentially capture both McDavid and Provorov. That would be a huge coup and would strengthen the Oilers D for years to come (Klefbom, Nurse, Marincin and Provorov).
Just idly dreaming but it would be so nice.
I haven’t posted on ON for quite a while, but I just gotta say, having lived in both Edmonton and Calgary, that Edmonton is a way better city to live in. I don’t know what it is about Calgary that’s so special. Honestly, it’s a boring city, traffic is a nightmare, etc. etc. I could go on. I cheered for the Flames in their last playoff run, but not this time, the fans have turned me off completely. Your team and organization are the kings of mediocre. The best mediocre team in the NHL!
Sorry, but I just have to add, being in BC now, that it isn’t just Edmonton that can’t stand people from Calgary, with your shiny BMWs and fancy new crap you tote around everywhere. Enjoy your playoff luck while it lasts cow town, your city and team are crap.
Just happen to be in Vancouver right now. No BMW’s around here anymore and traffic pfft what traffic. Piece of cake getting around town.
If you hate us in cow town because our hockey team rocks and most of us are successful we can live with that. No problem at all.
there are good and bad sides of any town, let me stress a few.
About 10 years ago my friends and I went camping in Jasper and Banff and decided to head to Calgary since we were close by in L. Louise. when we got into what was downtown Calgary at around 6pm on a saturday I was shocked to see literally NO ONE walking around the streets. I thought it was a ghost town or they have underground walk areas for the public. Nope I was wrong, the town is just dead on a Sat night. I hate to think what the night life would be…if their is any.I’m sure there are more bad things in calgary but I haven’t lived there so it would be wrong to comment.
Now to BC. The good, it’s not as boring. The bad, where to start. Well for one thing, you have gangsters in the government who molest you wallet every go, gas tax, pst, gst, property tax, you name it, it’s got a tax, there’s even a tax on a tax on a tax. Then there are the snobs who live in downtown, many of them Canuck fans who give the whole city a bad name.
Come game day, the fans are out in full force, speeding through rush hour traffic to try and get to another crappy game, tail gating, aggressive driving and plugging up the bridges and roads with their sh&t driving. Apparently, they think that regular streets also have that left lane passing lane courtesy rule on the highway. Yes, welcome to BC, where every freaking lane is a passing lane on any street, so long as you’re a douche who needs to get to crap game quick. It doesn’t matter to these clowns, if you’re in front of them, be it left middle or right lane, you’re bad driver for not driving the speed they like.
Over on the highway in the lower mainland, the drivers here treat the left lane not as a passing lane, but a personal speed track. The motor cyclists are even smarter, they ride like they can never die. And the right lane doesn’t save you either, as the drivers here also tailgate you on that lane too. They want you to drive on the shoulder and make way for them it seems.
So on game day and most other days, if the bridges are plugged up, it’s not some noob who caused it but some douche who can’t wait to see the Canucks lose. After all driving on the highway is easy right? 2 lanes, go straight, center divider? WRONG! Welcome to B.C. If you’re not in a hurry to die, than you’re probably a bad driver.
And don’t get me started on those pricks who live in Downtown. ” I DON’T CARE IF YOU’RE A TOURIST HAVING FUN AT A PUBLIC PARK, HOW DARE YOU DISTURB MY NAP IN A PUBLIC PARK OUTSIDE, I LIVE HERE, I’M ENTITLED SO DON’T MAKE NOISE OF ANY KIND, YOU STUPID NOISE MAKING FUN LOVING TOURISTS!”
really, it is very insensitive to cross post a piece like this, which is essentially all about Edmonton’s amazing cup, er, I mean lottery run.
The Oilers have played all year to get to this point. in fact, they have worked hard for many years to be in the position they are in – namely the new lottery dynasty.
It has taken a special kind of hockey fan to embrace the annual lottery runs and all that it takes to “win” it year after year,
so us lowly playoff teams should stick to our own business of silly, useless winning seasons and playoff runs, and let the Oilers enjoy their own personal victory parade over lottery domination.
Well I can cross this site of my list, immature Albertans insulting each other on a Canucks site.
