  • The Funky Chicken Has Left The Building

    Bravo Bob Nicholson!!!
….just a couple of small fixes I’d like to run by you….
The Oiler radio broadcast play-by-play guy is awful.
The team needs a mascot for the new building (..maybe awful play-by-play guy’s new gig). The mascot should be representative of the team and the city. Get the mascot some boxing lessons so he can punch out the likes of Ralph the Dog, Stupid Orca, etc….I give you ‘Otto the Otter’!!!

A winning team is far more important than a mascot – and how about we trade the Octane for a decent D and goalie. We don’t need a bunch of prancing females, we are not an American football/hockey team.

Toronto on paper have a decent team, earlier in the season they looked like a playoff team. And then out of the blue they quit.

I predict Babcock is going to look like a genius next year and Toronto will be fighting for the playoffs. Problem is they need to get to another level to compete for the Cup.

This team arguably is a potential playoff team next season especially in the East.

The Canucks are in re-build mode, and in cap problems. They’re talking about trading Hamhuis and Bieksa. If you could get Hamhuis for a second rounder, is that something Chiarelli would do?

  • The Last Big Bear

There’s a lot of talk of the Oilers trying to shake Seabrook loose from Chicago, but I really don’t see it happening.

Chicago is not in as bad a cap situation as people are trying to make it seem.

They have a lot of big contracts, but most of them can be moved.

Put Sharp on the market for a high pick and he’d be gone in an hour. The return for Crawford would depend on the market at the moment, but he’d probably the best goalie available this summer. He’d get snapped up off waivers if nothing else.

That’s like $12 in cap space right there.

And I’d give those guys up a million times before I shipped a 1st pairing defender
off a contending team while he’s playing the best hockey of his life.
