Ok, so not quite the same big news item that we’re now accustomed to, but Richard Panik will be back with the Leafs next season.

You can’t really argue with that. Panik, 24, scored 17 points in 76 games last season after being snapped up by Toronto on the waiver wire from Tampa Bay. Even with the signing of P.A. Parenteau, the right winger could see a boost in responsibility next year with Kessel now gone.

Very happy he was kept here..! I wouldn’t have minded seeing Santorelli & Raymond back here, too.. Two players who played with heart..

Also.. (if anyone from management reads this)… I think they should really take a look back at the game video for Drew MacIntyre.. (both Marlies & Leafs.. I have three videos made for him, in my channel) He’s reliable, has no problem being a back-up, is very cheap.. and would be a good fit with Reims, if Bernier isn’t re-signed… He also is another guy with heart, intelligence.. and able to move up & down without hassles..

..and I would love a job, Leaf Management.. Even part-time..

bringing macintyre back kind of goes against what dubas wants with the marlies/solar bears; which is to let the kids play and develop. if macintyre were to come here, it would be solely on the condition that he’s either back-up in the nhl or starter in the ahl. if that’s the case, then he cuts into playing time for gibson, bibeau, sparks, etc. the other thing too is that leafs management has stressed that they want bernier back next season and even if they moved one of bernier or reimer, id rather see them promote one of their younger guys or sign a guy with more than 1 nhl game of experience (dunno if that’s still the case for macintyre but have to imagine it’s close to that)
