    Garrett Barks — yes, good one.

    I am split on this. On one hand, the Garrett Sparks story has feel-good all over it.

    On the other hand, Bernier has to shake off whatever is plaguing him because he’s not tradable and not playable. And come the trade deadline, it has to be Reimer or Bernier. If Bernier can’t get his act together, it’s Reimer.

    So, all parties have an interest in seeing Bernier get his act together. But the only way to do it is to have him play.

    And what does Babcock do? Risk a couple more Capital-type games?
