POWERED BY POINTSBET CANADA
What better way to kick off Bluelines, our betting guide in partnership with PointsBet Canada, than with a back-to-back on the first two days of their launch in Ontario. Every Leafs game day we’ll give you a quick look at what is being said about the Leafs, some player props, and a couple of other bets that might be worth your time.
Leafs vs. Panthers (Leafs: +140)
For the second consecutive game, the Toronto Maple Leafs are underdogs. Despite coming off of a strong 6-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Leafs enter tonight’s game with plus odds. On the second half of a back-to-back and facing one of the top teams in the league in the Florida Panthers, it’s going to be another big test for this Leafs team, who are seeing a potentially big boost with the anticipated return of Jake Muzzin to the lineup.
Toronto and Florida are both in the midst of multi-game win streaks, with Florida’s last loss coming against the Leafs. It will be no easy feat, but you have to like the value in the moneyline for the Leafs in this one.
Mitch Marner over 1.5 points (+155)
Mitch Marner is on another planet right now. Marner has hit over 1.5 points in six consecutive games and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Plus odds on Marner to do so again for the seventh straight game feels like good value in what is a battle of the league’s two top offensive teams. If Sergei Bobrovsky starts for Florida, he allowed six goals in two periods of work against New Jersey on Saturday. If Spencer Knight starts, the Leafs put four past him a little over a week ago. It’s hard to not like a higher scoring game in this one and another standout Marner performance.
Go big with an Auston Matthews opening goal (+950)
Auston Matthews tied the single-season franchise record for goals in style last night with a hat trick (which you could’ve gotten for +2500). Matthews breaking the record is a foregone conclusion and doing it right out of the gate in tonight’s game presents odds you just won’t get otherwise for an Auston Matthews goal.
