The Toronto Maple Leafs have assigned Travis Boyd to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
Through four games of the season, Boyd has yet to dress for a game and is a likely candidate to bounce between the taxi squad and AHL.
The 27-year-old joined the Leafs as a free agent after spending the rest of his career in the Washington Capitals organization. In 85 NHL games, Boyd has scored eight goals and 31 points. In 221 AHL games he’s scored 57 goals and 172 points.
