Absolutely, the Leafs Madness Bracket

Round one is over, and now we will quickly work through the second round in the next couple of days. We’ll have our Final Four established by the end of the week and have the ultimate playoff next week.
Here’s where we are at today…

So far no real upsets to speak out. Red Kelly knocking off Syl Apps, and Al Iafrate and Alexander Mogilny cleansed the bracket of enforcers sending Tie Domi and Tiger Williams packing, but that’s about it. The upsets should be starting now, and the really tough choices are probably coming in the next few days where it’s not as simple as it was last week. Here are today’s matchups…
Maybe Tragically Hip fans will go against the runaway favourite of Johnny Bower, but it’s hard to imagine Bower not winning this easily.

Mahovlich’s skill go up against George Armstrong’s leadership and tenure. This should be fun one to watch, but that Habs stank on Mahovlich will probably work against him here.

The battle of name recognition. Do you like stale donuts or drunken New England senators? Another seriously close one to watch.

Red Kelly was the closest thing to an upset in Round 1 for this region, but unless everyone on twitter is a relative of his, I think Keon will probably shutdown any hope of a cinderella run.
I don’t need to tell you that Sittler is gonna win this easily.
The Darkest Timeline Region
Ask me a year ago and I would have said Salming wins this easily, but now, with all the Auston 50 goal talk and the understanding of what a feat that is, there seems to be some respect building for Rick Vaive.

Lanny is one of my all-time favourite players and he’s seeded high enough that this looks like a walk. That said, Iafrate is by nature a wild card and maybe he’s going to go on a surprise run.

Here’s another one that seems to be a predestined rubber stamp for Wendel.
Round 2 continues tomorrow. Happy voting.
