Gord Dermott.
With Roman Polak being activated off of Injured Reserve, the Leafs announced today they’d be sending down Andreas Borgman to the AHL’s Marlies.
The move isn’t necessarily surprising, but unfortunate for Borgman, who’d played in 48 games so far this year. As Borgman isn’t eligible for waivers and Travis Dermott now appears to be a regular fixture on the Leafs roster, it appears Borgman’s now the odd man man out with Connor Carrick slotting in as the team’s 7th defenceman.
Playing 13:41 a night this season, Borgman registered 3 goals and 8 assists while putting up a CF% of 50.4 at 5v5.
Is it the last of Borgman? Is he only back up if there’s another injury? Is Roman Polak always in the lineup if he’s healthy?
More questions than answers at this point, friends.
