The Canadiens earned the so-called Bettman Point in their season opener on Thursday, suffering a 4-3 shootout loss against the Carolina Hurricanes. Montreal, which has spread out right wing Brendan Gallagher, center Max Domi and left wing Jonathan Drouin over its first three lines in the hope of creating a balanced attack, has struggled as a big road underdog, going 4-16 in their last 20 away games as a moneyline underdog of +150 or more at sports betting sites.
