Always something in Leafsland, eh.
It was announced at today’s morning skate that Travis Dermott would not be suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club in tonight’s matchup against the Winnipeg Jets.
There isn’t really too much to get into here. I know when I have a cold I barely like putting on pants, much less playing an NHL hockey game.
Perhaps it’s a convenient excuse to allow the defence to get more of a rotation, but hey, healthy scratching a second year guy isn’t the end of the world, either. Rest is never a bad thing, and we all know Dermott will be in the lineup down the stretch when things really count.
It sounds like the Leafs will be using a Marincin-Ozhiganov bottom pairing. So you better watch out, Laine.
