Five Toronto teams will be in action Wednesday night

The greatest thing about Toronto, besides everything, is the sports teams.

On Wednesday, we’ll get to see five of those teams in action.

It’s sort of hilarious Toronto FC has arguably the biggest game in their club’s history overshadowed by a Leafs game. The good news? Kickoff isn’t until 9:30, so you’ll have time to tune in after the Leafs as long as there’s not an extended overtime.

Typically one of the most fun matchups in the AL East, it’s an Aaron Sanchez vs. Eduardo Rodriguez matchup on the mound between the division’s top two teams. But it’s still April baseball, and the only game out of the five that’s still in the regular season.

No disrespect intended to the Marlies whatsoever. They’re our baby Leafs and we love them dearly. But do you honestly think there will be more than like, 100 people tuned into this game from a Toronto standpoint? They’re up 2-0 in the best-of-five series and need just one game to clinch, and if you’re a Toronto hockey fan, well, there’s another game on. Then again, winning one out of three isn’t always easy. 😉

After going up 2-0 in the series, tensions have risen a fair bit after Washington responded with two victories of their own. Toronto hosts a crucial game 5, with opening tipoff set for 7 p.m. However, we have an inkling there will be more than a few people sneaking a peak at the arena’s TV’s during every stoppage.

If you’re looking for the last super-day in Toronto sports, one that sticks out is  October 14th, 2015. Though neither the Leafs or Raptors were playing, Toronto FC clinched their first ever playoff berth the same day as Jose Bautista’s monster bat flip in Game 5 of the ALDS.

As is customary for Raptors home games, Maple Leaf Square will be showing the Raptors’ game until its conclusion before switching over to the Leafs, before switching over to Toronto FC. So if you’re a hockey-only type, consider making plans that don’t involve an outdoor watch party.
