Game #27: Toronto @ Pittsburgh, Dec. 8/10 (5-2 Loss)

The Leafs can’t expect to win games when they give up all of the following: 3-on-1, 2-on-0, breakaway, 2-on-1, among a good quantity of other high percentage chances.  By my count, the Penguins had 12 such high-quality chances to score (these are cashed in roughly 33 % of the time) in total, which is extremely excessive.  11 of those came in the first two periods.

The defensive pairing of Beauchemin-Aulie got shelled again last night.  Komisarek was also -7 at EV.  Kaberle-Schenn were actually paired up against the Penguins’ top player the most out of all defencemen, as Schenn played nearly 9 minutes against Crosby while Kaberle played just under 7.
