The Leafs did quite well for the first two periods, outchancing Carolina 21-9 overall (13-6 at EV), but the Canes finally gained some territorial control in the third period.  Both teams had plenty of high quality scoring chances (8 for TOR, 6 for CAR).  Kessel scored twice and shot 6 of the Leafs’ 7 scoring chances that occurred when he was on the ice.   MacArthur led all Leaf forwards with a +7 SC differential at even strength as he and his mates, Grabovski and Kulemin, dominated.  Check out Brett Lebda, though, who led the team at +9!
