Even though they’re not playing their best hockey right now, the Leafs managed to salvage a split on their four-game road trip through Western Canada/Seattle.
Speaking of which, we kicked off the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take by dissecting our trip to Jasper over the weekend to play in a pond hockey tournament. Thanks to Betway, Booster Juice, and Tourism Jasper for making the experience such a memorable one. Furthermore, Rosey squashed the rumours of a potential comeback very quickly. Jokes aside, he carried our team in Jasper. Shocker, right? There’s a first for everything.
Presented by Door Dash, The Appetizer focused on Toronto’s split over the weekend in Vancouver and Seattle, respectively. Auston Matthews is now two goals away from 40 and Toronto’s defensive game continues to be a work in progress. We spent a lot of time talking about the crease as well. Martin Jones got lit up against the Canucks while Ilya Samsonov turned in another solid effort against the Kraken. The rollercoaster continues. Where do they go from here?

Additionally, we also covered the Corey Perry to Edmonton news and if the Leafs missed out on Patrick Roy. So. Many. Debates. The next little while leading up to the trade deadline will be a fascinating one for Brad Treliving and company.
Meantime, thanks to our friends over at Charm Diamond Centres, we previewed Toronto’s light two game slate this week. It’s not an easy one —that’s for sure. They have a home and home – starting Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena – with the red-hot Winnipeg Jets. Talk about another measuring stick match-up!
Speaking of which, be sure to join us on Tuesday at 11 AM ET as we continue to look ahead to the two-game set with the Jets.
