Dark times in Leafs Nation.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Sadly, down 3-1 in the series, the dream could end before it really even starts on Tuesday night in Boston. Last call at the bar for Keefe and company.
It was a sobering start to the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take. Most importantly, Jay Rosehill was in slightly better spirits than he was on Saturday night when he went full scorched earth on TheLeafsNation After Dark with Zack Phillips. That was something. Check it out!

Presented by Greta Bar YYZ, the encompassing therapy session began. First and foremost, we discussed Mitch Marner’s bench tantrum. For all intents and purposes, that mid-game interaction between Marner, William Nylander, and Auston Matthews should tell you all that you need to know about this current nucleus. It’s not working. Additionally, we talked about change. The Core Four’s been together for six seasons now, and all they’ve produced is one measly series victory. It’s time to try something new. From Marner to Sheldon Keefe to many others, there could be a lot of movement coming over the next few months. Quite frankly, that’s been long overdue. Also, what were those post-game comments? It seems like everyone in that room is living in a fantasy world sometimes.
Speaking of which, brought to you by Charm Diamond Centres, before looking ahead to Game 5, we discussed Brendan Shanahan’s future as team President. All in all, there seems to be a systemic/culture issue with this organization. Should it start from the top? All eyes on new MLSE President and CEO Keith Pelley.

After that, we took some time to talk about Tuesday night in Boston. If there’s a silver lining to this mess, it’s that Boston was up 3-1 in the first round last year, then Florida went to Sergei Bobrovsky and the rest was history. So, Joseph Woll starts, right?
Be sure to join us for the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take where we’ll offer up a full preview for Game 5 at TD Garden.
BLEED BLUE, baby!
