Well, there you go.
Kasperi Kapanen is once again a Maple Leaf. The hero of game 2 of the first round of the 2017 playoffs, many were wondering when he’d again get his chance. In six games with the Marlies this season, he’s picked up 3 points (all goals), but we all know that Kapanen’s game isn’t necessarily about production – but rather his relentless ability to bug the pants off his opponents.
At the early hour of 8:07 a.m. today, it was announced that Kapanen was recalled from the Toronto Marlies.
In his place, Eric Fehr was sent down. No word yet onto who will be in the lineup tonight… as Mike Babcock decided to be, well, brief, both yesterday and today.
From TSN’s Kristen Shilton:
As the Leafs play tonight, we’ll get an answer pretty soon as to what exactly Mike Babcock’s master plan is. Is he a genius? Or does he just hate practice?
As for the move itself, we’ve still got just as many questions as you do.  Is it permanent? Will we see Kapanen in a Marlies uniform ever again? And most importantly, is Eric Fehr’s NHL career over? These are the questions we’re all wondering, and well, we’ll have answers soon enough.
For now, we play tiddlywinks or whatever else you do on a Saturday afternoon.
