Now that the boring part of the hockey season is over, we can finally start getting excited about trades, the draft, and more trades. The Leafs sure started it out with a banger.
The 23-year-old winger was drafted in 6th round, 158th overall, in the 2014 Entry Draft. Never really seen as a premier Leafs prospect, he was able to complete all four years at the University of Maine, finishing his senior year with 11 goals and 24 points in 37 games.
He is the brother of New York Ranger Jimmy Vesey, as well as the son of Leafs amateur scout, Jim Vesey.
The Oilers also signed him immediately after.
I’m assuming the condition on the seventh-round pick was if the Oilers could sign him, so I can’t wait to see who we draft in 2020.
Oilers are going to be really fun to watch the next couple months.
