Six years ago today, the Canadian national men’s ice hockey team were just three days away from their opening game against the Norwegians in the Vancouver Olympics.
Today, a much worse Canadian hockey team in the Toronto Maple Leafs makes their way to that same arena, as the Leafs take on the hometown Canucks to face their third Western Canadian opponent in a row.

It doesn’t get much worse than this. Nazem Kadri slots back into the lineup tonight after missing Thursday’s game with a lower body injury. Now in full tank mode, the Leafs look to, well, survive tonight.
Although there is one correction to be made to the lineup, it appears. The brother of a certain Brendan Leipsic may have spilled the beans in a previously unreported roster move.

Vancouver sits just three points out of a playoff spot coming into the game. Toronto sits two points behind everyone.

While the ACC will be occupied with NBA All-star festivities, the puck drops at 4 p.m. Vancouver time. It’s NHL.com’s free game of the week- it’s just a shame there will be some fans who paid to watch this game too.
