Riding the high of beating Randy Carlyle in the O.C. it’s time for the Leafs to bus it up to the road to Los Angeles, or as it’s sometimes called Hollyweird. Like I said, the Leafs won last night and that was good, but that also means the Leafs will be a little tired when they face the team with the third best record in the league.

Loose Change

From Mark Masters
  • It’s nice to see Babcock sticking with the optimized center roles with Bozak being bumped to the fourth line, and with Kapanen coming in we could see even more offense spread around, depending on if it’s Leivo or Martin who will be coming out. With Leivo not exactly setting the world on fire last night, I’d assume he’s the odd man out, and slotting Kapanen into a line with Komarov and Kadri seems appealing minus the nickname that will get attached to the line.
  • Polak coming in is always controversial, but giving a defenseman a night off when the team is playing back to back isn’t a ridiculous move. Despite the fact that it would mean a RHD/RHD pairing, I’d give Borgman the night off. Wait, if I’m being completely honest, I’d give Zaitsev the night off. He’s been one of the biggest disappointments this season and needs a strong reminder he has to be better.
  • Curtis McElhinney is starting against a team that you don’t typically associate with high offensive production, so with the exception of Kopitar’s hat trick the Leafs shouldn’t have to worry about McLovin’ digging them too big a hole. I’ll just keep sitting over here waiting for Calvin Pickard to come in and make everything feel alright.
  • Jonathan Quick will get the start for the Kings, I’ll probably give them the edge in net tonight.
The start time for tonight’s game is 10:30 PM ET (LOL @ you Easterners) and airs on TSN 4. I hope it goes to shootout.
