LGD: New month, same losing streak

The Leafs are in Nashville tonight trying to break out of a losing streak that has now reached nine games. January was not kind to Toronto (on a historic level), and now the organization and its fanbase seem to be entering all-out sell and tank mode, which is a good thing overall, if it’s for real.
February should be an important month for the team off the ice, leading up to the March 2nd trade deadline. Let’s see how much that’s influenced by what happens on it.
If you’re fully on board with tanking, you’ll be happy to know the Leafs are playing a Preds team tonight that boasts a 32-11-6 record, tied for first in the league with 70 points. You’ll remember the last time these two teams met was in late November when the Predators thumped the Leafs 9-2 at the ACC, which, until now, probably marked the lowest point in the season.
In the months since then, the Leafs have climbed and fallen in remarkable fashion, but now at 12 points out of the playoffs, will likely tail off for good. To what extent is the thing on everyone’s mind.

What to look for

  • Highlight packs for Dylan Strome or Mitch Marner on YouTube.
  • Bread recipes.
  • How soon the Leafs can pass the Jackets and Devils to get into the bottom five.
  • Reasons why Pete Carroll called for a pass on 2nd and goal.
  • Vacation deals.
