LGD – Tanks Vs. Jets

The last time the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets faced off, Dustin Byfuglien was a one-man wrecking crew; the kind of force that could stop a tank in its tracks, rough it up, and after 60 minutes or so let that tank roll along its happy merry way. Byfuglien had a goal, an assist, laid a bunch of people out flat, and the Jets won by a lopsided score of 5-1.
Tonight, the Jets will move Byfuglien up to forward… Byfuglien on the forecheck gives me nightmares.

The Leafs

The big news for tonight’s game is that Joffrey Lupul will return to the lineup, which means that last night’s lone goal scorer, Brandon Kozun, is coming out. That won’t really help anything, maybe other than Lupul’s trade value. Captain Dion Phaneuf took part in this morning’s team skate, but won’t be dressing for tonight’s game (as expected). So, you’re pretty much left with this…

My God. That defence.

The Jets

Did you know that the Winnipeg Jets are sixth in the entire league in SAT% with a 52.40 rating? That’s the NHL’s new name for Corsi For %, by the way. And a 52.40% is pretty damn good! The Jets are a good team that lacks high-end talent, but play a sound, puck possession game. The Leafs, if you’re interested and/or want to sob, are 26th in the league with a 45.86%.
