You ready for your first NHL look at the boy? Today, the Leafs announced they’ve finally listened to all the tweets about his AHL performance and recalled Andreas Johnsson from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, while also bringing up Calle Rosen on an emergency basis.
Rosen, of course, played four games up with the big club to start the season, and has since suited up for 50 games for the Marlies, registering a goal and 16 assists. Meanwhile, Johnsson’s leading the Marlies with 54 points in as many games, putting up 26 goals and 28 assists along the way. He actually ranks fourth in the league in scoring, while in a tie for second place in the goal department.
We’re still not sure about how exactly these moves look in the big picture, and what kind of play time we’re looking at for these two.
Some early thoughts, however, on how this might shake out:
Zaitsev, of course, has been battling the flu and missed Saturday’s game.
But wait, there’s another quote for you to parse, this one from yesterday:
Will Andreas Johnsson be in the lineup tomorrow? Will see Calle Rosen back again with the big club, or is this just a tease? And what to make of picking Rosen over Borgman?
Only one way to find out, but until then it seems like it’s time to play armchair GM for the next 30 or so hours!

Update:
No further news on to what’s up with Dermott, but we’ll let you know when we do!
