Marlies sign Luke Cavallin to a two-year AHL contract
By Nick Barden
1 year agoWith a number of goalies already signed for next season, the Marlies wanted to bring in likely just one more. Meet Luke Cavallin.
The 21-year-old netminder signed a two-year AHL deal with the Marlies which will begin next season. Cavallin has had an interesting junior career, playing three seasons in the OHL before going to Italy during the 2020-21 season.
He then returned to Flint this year and played 56 regular season games finishing with a 36-14-4 record and a .910 save percentage. Cavallin then followed that up with a .929 save percentage across 19 playoff games.
TLN’s own, Kyle Cushman, has added the 21-year-old to the depth chart and this is what it looks like as of right now:
It’s likely that Cavallin will begin the season as the third goalie on the Newfoundland Growlers and work his way up from there. It’ll be interesting to see what each of these new goalies will do given the sheer amount there are now throughout the system.
