After four rounds of 15 different matchups between 16 of the best 279 goals scored from the Toronto Maple Leafs 2022-23 regular season, we finally have a winner after the voting in the final matchup wrapped up yesterday afternoon over on our Twitter account (@TLNdc)
Heading into the finals we were treated to a matchup between two of the best right-wingers in the league – Mitch Marner and William Nylander.
We were either going to see Marner repeat as champion and win another goal of the season bracket after winning it last year with his goal against the Vegas Golden Knights on November 2, 2021, or see William Nylander be crowned the winner for the first time.

Matchup one, the finals:
Winner: Mitch Marner vs EDM, March 11, 2023 (52% of the votes)
Loser: William Nylander vs MIN, February 24, 2023 (48% of the votes)

The matchup in the finals was our closest matchup throughout the entire bracket’s four rounds, and rightfully so. These two goals scored by Mitch Marner and William Nylander were highlight-reel goals from this past season and I expected nothing short of a close matchup with over 130 votes.
Marner and Nylander both had five entries of goals from this past season so it was almost certain that these two would find each other in the finals somehow, whether it would be with these two goals or two other goals scored by them.

Here is a picture of the updated bracket after the completion of the finals that just wrapped up yesterday afternoon.
I just want to say thank you to everybody who took the time to go over to our Twitter account (@TLNdc) over the last couple of weeks to leave a vote on every single matchup from the first round until the finals. It ultimately helped us determine the goal of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
