Mitch Marner, William Nylander, Morgan Rielly join Auston Matthews at 2024 All-Star weekend

The results are in!
Auston Matthews, who was named the initial representative for the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2024 All-Star Game, will be joined by fellow teammates Mitch Marner, William Nylander and Morgan Rielly, who were announced as three of the 12 players to be voted in by the fans.
Earlier today, during the first intermission of the Rangers and Capitals game, they announced five of the 12 players to be voted in, and they were Cale Makar, Leon Draisaitl, Sergei Bobrovsky, Alexandar Georgiev and Jeremy Swayman. Just before puck drop for the Avalanche and Maple Leafs game, along with the three Maple Leafs to be named all-stars, Thatcher Demko, Brock Boeser, J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson were also voted in by the fans, completing the 12 vacant spots.
This is Mitch Marner’s third all-star selection (2020 and 2023) and William Nylander and Morgan Rielly’s first selection. What better time to get your first all-star selection than in your city? Nylander, who is having a career year, led all skaters with the most votes (1,393,578), with his two teammates, Marner (946,154) and Rielly (830,480), not far behind, as they were both over the 800,000 mark.
In addition to having four Maple Leafs in the All-Star game, Auston Matthews and William Nylander are two of the initial ten players selected to participate in the NHL skills competition and compete for the million dollar prize. Voting is opening up for two more players to go into the skills competition, so I guess Leafs fans can do their part to get Marner and Rielly in the mix for that as well.
As far as the finalized All-Star rosters go, we know there will still be some changes coming. With some players that have been selected already with injuries that will prevent them from attending, we’ll see if the league further wants to indulge Leafs fans by possibly considering John Tavares a replacement option.
