If you missed last night’s game, well. In some ways, you didn’t miss anything — the Leafs ultimately walked away with a shootout loss and one point in the standings. Still, it was a good hockey game. These were two good hockey teams who may play each other in the postseason, fresh off the trade deadline and looking to gauge where they’re at respectively. The pace was good, and while the Leafs were missing Auston and the Bolts lost Kucherov after the first, it was a good test for both teams.
Without any further ado, here are your scoring plays from last night’s 4-3 shootout loss.

1-0 Lightning (Kunitz???)

Chris Kunitz is playing on the top line. That is, of course, partially because of the big trade sending Namestnikov to the Rangers but also… Chris Kunitz? But who am I to talk, since he clearly scored tonight.

1-1 (JVR’n’t you tired of this pun yet?)

JVR is so good net-front. Part of that is his size — when you’re as big as he is, you manage to screen the goalie pretty well — but a much bigger factor is his unreal hand-eye coordination.

2-1 Leafs (Mitchell Marner!)

Kid is red-hot. Like, he had five goals entering 2018. He’s scored 12 since then.
2-2 (TJohnny Be Good)
Not the best effort from the Leafs defensively. And all the credit to Tyler Johnson for sticking with the puck. Tenacity pays dividends, folks.

3-2 Lightning (Adam Erne, assisted by Roman Polak)

This is a good pun from the Bolts social staff but IT IS CATEGORICALLY INCORRECT, he didn’t earn anything! Roman Polak juST GAVE IT TO HIM! POLITELY! He should get an assist on that play!!

3-3 (BOZE LIGHTYEAR!)

Sometimes you try things and you fail. You should just try again! Tyler Bozak gets a second chance on the power play and he makes it count. Also, what a pretty pass from Mitchell. <3

4-3 Lightning in the shootout :/

Brayden Point is your only goal scorer in the shootout. You can watch the whole thing if you’d like, but I don’t really see why you’d want to.
