Morning after-recap: There’s No Fault in Our Stars
Wow, a Leafs game where I actually enjoyed every second of it, and didn’t hate myself for wasting my time watching the team play poorly. Who would’ve thought that we’d see that team again? While it wasn’t the entertaining, back and forth hockey that they played early on, it was a solid, all-around win, and I’ll take it. Without further ado, let’s get started.
1-0 Harlem Globetrotters
What’s not to love about this play? All four Leafs that contributed to this play did an excellent job. Marleau bringing the puck up the ice. Gardiner with the smart idea to join the rush, and a great pass to Marner. Marner with the great pass in-tight to Kadri. And Kadri with the right idea to be exactly where Marner needed him to be to bury it. Just a good ol’ hockey play.
2-0 for William and his Hymen
Great job by Nylander to switch over to the left side going into the zone to create the 2-on-1. And Zach Hyman is like a dog chasing cars, crashing the net to get that rebound.
And miraculously this goal wasn’t called back for goalie interference.
3-0 for the Fluky Bounces
Not much to say about this one, except that we think the hockey gods might be helping out Naz again.
3-1 via a “former Leaf”
Not the best move from Jakey on this one, and Hainsey couldn’t get to Radulov in time to stop a pass. Seguin was left wide open, and it’s a two goal game (also, Matthews was kind of puck-watching there).
4-1…oh wait, the refs suck
Yeah, this should’ve been a goal.
4-1, Willy to Auston
Anytime the puck is going from Nylander to Matthews, it’s probably money. Carry on.
Well, enjoy a nice, relaxing, hockey-free weekend.
Or watch the All-Star Game, I can’t really tell you what to do.
