The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a pretty interesting trade with the Philadelphia Flyers, moving the 24th overall pick to the Flyers in exchange for the 29th and 61st overall picks.
With the 24th pick, Philadelphia selected Ottawa’s Travis Konecny.
With a lot of nice players still on the board, it makes sense to move down five spots. The Leafs somehow still have a shot at Kelowna’s Nick Merkley, Sherbrooke’s Jeremy Roy, Charlottetown’s Daniel Sprong, Shawningan’s Anthony Beauvillier and AIK’s Oliver Kylington. Also, don’t sleep on Frolunda’s Jacob Larsson.
If they can nab one of those players, picking up a second round pick is well worth it in my opinion.
Stay tuned for the Leafs’ next pick!
