The Leafs are the best team on the planet and no one can change our mind.

Zach Hyman’s winning goal and empty net goal secured the victory and completed the comeback for the Leafs against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

William Nylander and Auston Matthews were able to get a goal and an assist each – adding to the vital offensive onslaught in the second half of the game.

Tyler Ennis got a powerplay goal to cut the lead to one and notched one for the second power play unit.

Mitch Marner, Morgan Rielly, and Patrick Marleau got two assists, while John Tavares, Jake Muzzin and Kasperi Kapanen notched a single assist each.

It was an entertaining game and probably the best comeback win for a Leafs team in a very long time.

The Leafs started this game with a big middle finger to every person that said they couldn’t depend on their skill to win games. Absolutely blazing through the neutral zone and getting some solid chances in front of Price.

With just over six minutes gone, the Leafs are +12/-4 in shot attempts – completely shelling the Habs to start the game.

But apparently, it’s not enough because the Habs get to open the scoring of this game.

Andrew Shaw wins the battle at the front of the net, sliding the puck past Andersen at 8:07 of the first.

While the first goal of the game was a struggle netfront, the second goal of the game and the second from the opponents was just a completely wide open shooter.

This time it’s Tomas Tatar taking advantage of a bad line change from the Leafs and letting it rip past Andersen to double the lead for the Habs.

The Leafs have the better totals but have been just letting the visiting team get good scoring chances. Nothing was more evident of that when they just let them get on the powerplay and score shortly after Dermott went to the box.

The first period is still far from being over and the Habs have a three-goal lead. Completely stunning the Leafs into submission and preparing them for a horrible game at home. Jeff Petry scored, whatever.

That was one period that the Leafs would want to forget. There would still be an important 40 minutes left to play.

Awarded a power play to begin the period, the Leafs went to work and were able to cut the lead down to just two with a man advantage tally from Matthews at 2:13 of the second.

What a shot to open the scoring from the home team. Matthews walks in from his patented spot and puts it right between the legs of the most overpaid goaltender in the league.

With the lead cut down to two, the Habs had a very “oh shit” mentality and were about to let some shots loose on Andersen.

One chance particularly, Andersen stood on his head and made an insane save to keep his team within reaching distance.

The Leafs were heavily outshot and outchanced this period, letting the Habs walk all over them and get those attempts off. With just six minutes left in the second, the Habs battled back and now have the overall shot attempt advantage at even-strength for the game to this point.

Montreal takes a dumb penalty and gifts the Leafs a powerplay goal at the hands of Tyler Ennis.

Beautiful passing from Nylander and Marleau on a rare goal from the second power play unit, the Leafs cut the deficit to just one single goal as the second period concludes.

The final period of the game started with the Leafs controlling the ice. Sensing some desperation, the Leafs unloaded some offensive chances on the Habs but they were able to handle it.

Voted worst captain of all time, Shea Weber got absolutely destroyed by future captain Matthews in a tilt behind the net.

I guess that was a penalty, but whatever.

“Leafs lack toughness and grit”, is dumb and stupid when you have a top-5 forward in the league absolutely handling the big tough meanies.

That momentum carried into the Leafs’ play and they were able to tie it up with more than 12 minutes to go.

Dumping the puck clearly in the zone, William “Elite Centreman” Nylander was able to pounce on a loose puck and tie the game for the best fucking team in the entire world.

They were not just going to let the Habs take them to overtime. The Leafs complete the comeback and win in regulation, all thanks to Zachary Hyman.

Just under two minutes left, Hyman comes and scores the most signature Zach Hyman goal ever.

Andreas Johnsson and Hyman (again) were able to net the two empty-netters to boost some stats for everyone. Leafs win 6-3.

Hahahhaa, the Habs are so bad.

William Nylander was everywhere tonight. Breaking up passes in the neutral zone, creating offensive chances, and streaking down the wing with the puck past some Canadiens defenders – he earned the title.

Scoring the tying goal and adding an assist, Nylander has extended his hot streak to 11 points in his last 14 games.

From thinking the Leafs were going to be blown out in the first intermission to laughing in the faces of every single opponent, this game was the most 2019 Toronto Maple Leafs game to date.

Demonstrating the pure talent that this team has, the Leafs were able to score some incredible goals with some heart-wrenching timing.

The Leafs were able to capitalize on the powerplay, they were still able to be the much better team at even-strength. With 53.21 CF% at 5v5, they had the better attempt numbers throughout this game.

Most notably, the Hyman-Tavares-Marner line was the team’s best line for shot attempts percentage.

The Leafs play their next game on the day of the trade deadline, Monday, February 25th against the Buffalo Sabres at home.
