The Tyler Bozak-Nazem Kadri debate is finally over.
Tyler Bozak has reportedly signed with the St. Louis Blues, according to Bob McKenzie.
And Chris Johnston confirmed the contract info minutes later.
Bozak was originally a college free agent signing, and arguably one of the best ones in the last decade or so. Over 594 games with the Leafs, he scored 136 goals and put up 365 points, topping the infamous 50 point mark once in his career.
Bozak will probably be mostly remembered for being the face of the anti-analytics side of the war during the Randy Carlyle era, getting top line minutes over centers like Nazem Kadri and Mikhail Grabovski. Once Carlyle was gone though, and Babcock came in, he was deployed much better in a sheltered role, where he actually excelled and got most of his haters off his back.
With Bozak and Ryan off the market, and the Leafs reportedly having shown interest in both, this might mean that the Leafs have already addressed their center depth… Malkin?
Tyler Bozak leafs the Leafs as the leading scorer among current Leafs. With him and JVR gone, that title now belongs to Nazem Kadri.
