Robidas cleared for contact, five players sent to Marlies

Robidas was held out of the early part of camp and has yet to play a preseason game. While the defenceman brushed this aside as being a precautionary measure, it was somewhat surprising, and created concern over where he was in his recovery from breaking the same leg twice last season.
The original plan was for Robidas to make an appearance in the final two exhibition games, and it looks like he’s on track to do that.
The Leafs play the Sabres tomorrow night, then finish out the preseason with two games against the Wings this week. At the very least, we should see Robidas get into one of those games against Detroit.
In other preseason fun, five more players have been sent to the Marlies. Sparks and Biggs were cut from the big club today, while players placed on waivers yesterday – Smith, Marshall, and Abbott – all cleared, and will join them in the minors.
