The Toronto Six add to win column with a 4-2 victory against the Buffalo Beauts

On a night where they weren’t even supposed to play, the Toronto Six pull off a magnificent win over the Buffalo Beauts.

This team keeps making history, and it is a beautiful thing.

Let’s dive into the things that made this game what it is.

Right from the get-go, it is evident that there was an improvement from yesterday’s game. They came out of the gate with powerful energy and got right to work. As this game progressed we saw the team get creative not only with plays but with their goals as well. The Toronto Six put in the work to tie the game after they lost their lead to the Beauts and eventually took back the lead. With each game that passes their ability to read plays as a team develops. They did a great job with this throughout, and it allowed them to take amazing shots. 

Yet again the SOG were high and very much in favor of the Six 49-26. That offensive power is so vital. If you keep shooting and doing it right you’ll need up with some excellent goals, much like we saw tonight.

The Toronto Six looked sharp and were quick, which was a little surprising, especially considering the quick turnaround with the change in schedule. They didn’t look tired at all. Their energy is all there and it seems like it will only improve. As the games progress they haven’t lost their legs, they just keep looking better.

Another positive for the night is the fact that the Six did not take as many penalties as yesterday. Slowly we see the discipline setting in.

To close off the great, tonight the Six’s amazing goaltending played a crucial role in tonight’s success. Chuli is so solid, technically strong, always in the right places, doing her jobs well, she kept them in the game.

The team feeds off this kind of energy so a goalie’s performance is key. 

 

At 2:39 into the first period, with an assist from Emma Woods, Brooke Boquist comes in and scores with the sweetest of dangles.

With a shot from the point, Megan Quinn, score the Six’s third goal of the night. The goal goes in with assists from Sarah-Eve Coutu Godbout and Lindsay Eastwood.  A lightning-fast release helps them take the lead.

As the third came to a close we get the insurance goal from Emily Fluke in her first as a member of the Toronto Six.

 

The Six need to be mindful of the “retaliation” that may come after they score as a goal. That is something they didn’t do tonight and it cost them their lead early. That being said they also cannot let their lead get to their head. You should always be conscious of where you are and what you’re doing regardless of the score.

From tonight’s game, it is also evident that the power play needs some work. From 3/11 on Sunday to 1/5 last night and 0/5 tonight, there has been a steady decline. Hopefully, we see some improvement in the upcoming game.

 

 

Having fun! We saw it yesterday, we see it today on the bench, in the hallway, most likely in the locker room. 

It’s so crucial, especially considering the times we are in. Keeping the game light while also being serious about the way you play is an important balance.

The Six have 5 points in the standings and are currently second in the league. We have a real chance here, let’s keep this momentum going!
