Folk’s, welcome to this week’s Mail Bag at the Leafs Nation with your host, h0ckeyfan!
As many as Mark Spector.
No, but they could certainly pull off an own goal like Kris Russell’s from a couple weeks ago. They’re the legends of the self-own.
He’s currently on a two-year contract signed in summer 2017 so he isn’t eligible for an extension until July 2018.
In all seriousness I would be willing to bet he doesn’t finish his contract with the Oilers.
Ah yes, a real question. The Leafs have themselves a surprising bevy of goaltending assets right now. They clearly like McEhlinney, who, by all reports is an excellent teammate, in the backup role. Both Garret Sparks and Calvin Pickard are killing it in the AHL, but it’s difficult to say if anyone is interested in giving anything more up than a middling prospect or pick for an unproven goaltender. I think the Leafs might just be better off hanging on to both goalies so they have the most depth possible.
Yes this is definitely a possibility. Swedish writer Uffe Bodin wrote at Eliteprospects about this today. That said, I feel Liljegren would need to have a monster tournament to make the Olympic squad. There are plenty good pros in Sweden for the team to choose from.
William Nylander, because of course he’s close personal friends with Mike Babcock.

Okay, here’s an important one, create your perfect fast food meal using any menu items from North America chains.
Here’s a good one from the TLN Slack channel. It would have to be a combination of the elite chains: Arby’s, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Popeye’s, and Dunkin’ Donuts. I would want a large Dunkin’ iced coffee, spicy popcorn chicken from Popeye’s, a Wendy’s JBC and frosty, a doritos crunch wrap supreme from Taco Bell, and a roast beef sandwich from Arby’s. That’s a completely reasonable meal for an average human to consume.
A Very Elford [12:15 PM]
who’s the lombardi who played for the carlyle leafs?
This came from an earlier Slack conversation about the Vince Lombardi rest stop on a New Jersey highway, which is apparently the best rest stop in the state. Someone replied “Dean Lombardi better” and then A Very asked who the Lombardi was that played for the Leafs during the Carlyle days. It was Matthew Lombardi. He scored eight goals in 62 games in 2011-12.
