Welcome back to another edition of Tunesday, the article that goes along with the Not Enough of Blue playlist! For those of you who are new, Not Enough of Blue is a playlist curated based on the performance of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the past two weeks. Right off the bat, it’s going to be a lot happier this time around. Their performance overall has been next level. They’ve been moving the puck more, creating chances, scoring more goals, the list goes on. With the good vibes going around, let’s get into the music.

In our second edition, we have six great songs in store for you. As always feel free to listen while you read. Both the Apple Music and Spotify versions of the playlist will be embedded/linked at the end of this piece.

To sum up the feeling from the beginning of this two-week period we begin with “Send My Love (To Your New Lover) – Adele. Before you ask, yes, it is about losing to Freddie Andersen. In our bones we knew our loss to him was destiny, but it was still painful. Truthfully it can even relate to him not re-signing with the Leafs.
I’m giving you up
I’ve forgiven it all
You set me free
Send my love to your new lover
Treat her better
We’ve gotta let go of all of our ghosts
We both know we ain’t kids no more
It was five long years with ups and downs on both ends. Unfortunately, time just wasn’t on the side of this relationship being extended. Whether you look at it as Fred to the Leafs or the Leafs to Carolina, it’s important to take in the part about letting go of ghosts and not being kids anymore. It’s been 5 years since our core has been together. It’s time to kick these ghosts to the curb and be open to the change that has already begun this season.

Shake It Off – Taylor Swift is our second song on the list. The title kind of gives away why it’s on here this time around.
But I keep cruising
Can’t stop, won’t stop moving
It’s like I got this music in my mind
Saying it’s gonna be alright
‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
It is time to shake off the losses of weeks past and moves forward, with heads held high. We need to bring in a new kind of energy to these games. Also, just getting up and having a good shakeout is so cathartic, give it a try one day!
Keep Winning – Serengeti is next up. A song full of great energy, I won’t spoil too much of it here so you can enjoy listening. The parts of focus are these two lines here,
Dark storms and now the sky is clear
the stars aligned and I’m finally here
The team has broken out of this sort of rut they were in. We are all ecstatic with the win streak that is continuing. No complaints from us cause we keep winning!
Glorious – Macklemore ft Skylar Grey comes in at number four. It continues the theme of high energy and glory in this series of games.
I made it through the darkest part of the night
And now I see the sunrise
Now I feel glorious, glorious
You want to keep this feeling with you for as long as possible, and for the next game against the Bruins, it seems like they did.
Look What You Made Me Do – Taylor Swift is song number five on Not Enough of Blue. Why? Because Boston is dead.
But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time
Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time
I got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined
I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!
Ooh, look what you made me do
The ultimate song of revenge is right here folks. For all the times that Boston has caused us pain, we have finally slain the beast and in the new Keefe era too.
Humble – Kendrick Lamar is our sixth and final song for this edition. While it is amazing that we have been doing so well, it is so important to remember that we need to stay humble with our wins. Arrogance and cockiness are not energies we want to move towards as we go into the next week of games.
Sit down
(Hol’ up lil’ , hol’ up lil’) be humble.

The chorus speaks to that perfectly. Reflection is definitely needed on what went perfectly and what could be improved on. From there we continue in our success.
