Upcoming Leafs Milestones

If and when the season begins there are a few Leafs players who are set to achieve some personal and team milestones. Since we’re not exactly sure what the next few months will hold this will give us something positive to look forward to once the season starts up again. Most of these predictions assume an 82 game season which at this point is unlikely but whatever.
Nikolai Kulemin – Thanks to the departure of Luke Schenn (seriously, thank you) Kulemin is the current active leader in games played with the Leafs with 303, if he stays healthy and manages to play more than 50 games he’ll jump to 74th on the Leafs All-Time list ahead of guys like Jonas Hoglund, Aki Berg, and Bob McGill.
Phil Kessel – Kessel is sitting at 99 goals during his Leafs career, with a full season he’s a lock to score at least 30 which would move him into the Top 30. Doug Gilmour has 131 career goals with the Leafs, Kessel could pass him this season.
Mikhail Gabovski – Grabbo has 82 goals during his tenure with the Leafs, it’s pretty fair to assume he should break the 100 goal plateau this season as well. He also has a pretty good shot at breaking the 250 point mark which would put him in the Top 50 of all time. He is also the active leader in assists with 110.
Dion Phaneuf – Phaneuf is the active leader on the Leafs D in most categories simply by default. He’s sitting at 84 points currently and should be able to break the century mark sometime this season.
James Reimer – If Reimer can manage to play in at least 40 games this season he will move ahead of Jonas Gustavsson and into 17th All-Time. He’ll still be behind Vesa Toskala which may be the most depressing fact I’ve ever written on this blog.
Clarke MacArthur – I don’t know what else he needs to do to endear himself to Leafs’ fans, but passing the 50 goal plateau and getting to 150 points over three seasons should be enough.
Joffery Lupul – Even though I think he’s in for quite the regression Lupul should easily pass both the 50 goal, 100 assist, and 150 points plateau this season. Easy.
The Toronto Maple Leafs- Win #29 next season will be their 2700th win of All-Time. Not too bad
So there you have it, a few things to look forward to once the season starts. Maybe we can start a pool for which games we think these milestones will occur in.
