Well, we got a maximum of six NHL hockey games left In this season. The draft is less than a month away, and free agency is a little over 31 days from now.
But despite all of that, it’s time to argue about goalies.
Yesterday, the Leafs signed on Kasimir Kaskisuo, who had been on loan this season to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
They’ve also got under contract for next season: Frederik Andersen, Calvin Pickard, Curtis McElhinney and Garret Sparks. 5 goalies into four spots does not go, so it looks like one of them will have to be on the move.
The only question is, who do you move?
Do you target one of the AHL guys, and stick with stability at the NHL level? Do you go rogue and decide to give up on Andersen due to a rough postseason? Do you decide McElhinney’s performance is destined to go down, and sell on him now while giving Sparks a chance? Or do you loan out Kaskisuo again for fun and hope he’s cool with it?
What’s your idea to resolve the Leafs’ goalie situation?
Leave your answers in the comments below, no matter how wacky, wet and wild they may be.
