Okay, the Leafs are in a bit of a rut right now. They’re not scoring nearly as much as they should, they’re blowing leads, and they’re not looking nearly as dominant as they did to start out the year. Their record over the past month-and-a-bit is less than inspiring, the fanbase isn’t always happy with line selection, and a number of combined slumps have made the team a tough watch most nights.
However, as we’ve written frequently over the last little bit, there’s also no real awful sense of urgency in the organization either. They’re pretty much locked into a third in the division spot, not because they’re so great, but because the other five teams (outside of Boston and Tampa Bay) in the Atlantic are just that bad. Sure, we’ve seen the Leafs break our hearts before, but it would take a heck of an inspired effort to miss the playoffs with the 2017-18 Atlantic division.
But we’ve still got a little over 30 hockey games left to go in the regular season, and as the old saying goes, you’ve got to play the games.
So we ask you, how would you get these Leafs going again?
Play Shania in the locker room before every game? Buy a team hamster? Road trip to Sudbury on an off-day? Watch Fight Club?
However ridiculous you want it to be, leave your answer in the comments below.
