11-year old Canari Yonas of Winnipeg is the amazing recipient of a $1000 scholarship from Black Girl Hockey Club. BGHC awards scholarships 3 times a year, aiming to promote and encourage the inclusion of Black women in hockey, where they are typically underrepresented.
Besides scholarships, BGHC offers community events and education to bring awareness to the lack of racial diversity in hockey. The Club is a respected and influential changemaker in the hockey community.
