There are many things you could do instead of watching the round robin of the IIHF World Championship. While the results aren’t exactly a foregone conclusion, many game aren’t exactly the closest of affairs, either.

As you probably know, Mitch Marner and William Nylander are the Leafs’ two representatives at the World Championships taking place in Germany and France.

Today, both teams are on an off day, which Marner spent wandering around Paris looking at the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, according to his Instagram stories. I’m not quite sure what William Nylander was up to, but he’s a piece of artwork himself.

But yesterday, if you’re curious enough to still be reading, both Canada and Sweden were in action. While Canada had a routine 6-0 victory over Belarus, Sweden was still facing a small market team in the United States but unfortunately could not come out on top as they fell by a 4-3 score. Despite outshooting the Yankees 42-27, the Three Crowns were upset in what someone dubbed Miracle on Ice 2.0, probably.

Nylander was held scoreless in the loss. Pressure getting to him, maybe? (Please don’t take that seriously.)

Marner, on the other hand, did what he did at most levels of hockey and picked up a pair of primary assists on the first two goals of the game.

Up next, both teams get another day off on Wednesday just in time to watch a pair of Game 7s, while Thursday we’ve got Canada facing off against France while Sweden takes on Latvia.
